06/09/04 - Grid Sentinel President Dr. Wang received best paper award at the 2004 Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference

Dr. Liancheng (Lee) Wang, President, Grid Sentinel Inc., received the 2003 Best Paper Award at the 58th Annual Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference, April 2004, Atlanta, GA, for the paper Protective Relays Under Weakfeed Conditions. Voted by conference participants, this award is presented annually by the Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference planning committee, for the best paper of the previous year. Dr. Wang co-authored the paper with Mr. Walter A. Elmore, the well-known relay expert and a Life Fellow of the IEEE. The paper was presented by Mr. Elmore at the 57th Annual Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference, April 2003, Atlanta, GA.

02/26/04 - Grid Sentinel announces the launch of WebRSTM

Grid Sentinel Inc. announces the launch of WebRS (Web Relay Star), the industry's first Web-based engineering solutions for improving protection reliability and analyzing power grid faults. WebRS allows protection engineers to quickly diagnose suspicious relay operations and initiate corrective actions.

"Typically, it is straightforward to tell whether a relay has operated properly, but the difficulty lies in understanding complex relay operations, finding out the root causes of misoperations, and thus initiating corrective actions," stated Dr. Liancheng (Lee) Wang, President, Grid Sentinel Inc. "Based on its powerful features, WebRS offers protection engineers the capability that otherwise would take much more time for experienced engineers to accomplish. In addition, WebRS allows enterprise-wide access to disturbance data and maximizes the potential of the information generated from the data to improve power reliability."

WebRS eliminates your needs to constantly install and upgrade various vendor-dependent analysis programs on your computers. Using Web-enabled devices, registered users can manage their data, simulate and evaluate relay performance based on the comprehensive suite of tools built into the WebRS, from anywhere at anytime.
